Designing Research: Co-Creating Generative Possibilities
This three day workshop focuses on research as social practice, offering a relational approach with interactive methods. Through collective performances and the discussion, research scenarios will be constructed, linking theory and practice as an innovative way of producing knowledge and new possibilities. We will primarily focus on collaborative and participatory research through a social constructionist framework. The underlying principle is to illustrate the many ways in which we are already engaged in research and inquiry as a daily practice and bring that to the foreground of our work. The exercises and performances will bring a sense of attentiveness, relationality, connection, and collaboration to research, inviting participants to articulate the co-creative knowledge within their own work. Through these experiences we will explore ways of “being” in research that are useful and productive in our daily lives. We invite participants to bring in their own work and interests to connect relevant contexts with the topics being offered. On Sunday, we will share and support each other around our projects or areas of inquiry that we are interested in learning more about in the context of your own research/practice.
